William Deresiewicz's book A Jane Austen Education: How Six Novels Taught Me About Love, Friendship, and the Things That Really Matter was reviewed by The New York Times.
On Saturday, June 16th, we will hold our traditional Donwell Abbey Strawberry-Picking Party at Elaine Bander’s house—in the garden (picking berries) if weather permits—from 3 to 5 pm, with tea sandwiches and tea, champagne punch, scones, cream, berries, and cakes. Cost will be $10 (JASNA members) and $12 (guests). Please rsvp to [email protected] by June 14th.
During this event we will have a tiny business meeting to discuss suggestions for next year’s Reading Group. We will also have an informal discussion about P. D. James’s new novel, Death Comes to Pemberley. |
